Yesterday I placed a bet on the Betfair Exchange in a race at Sandown and took 25.0 and the bet was matched and carried through to the race. My horse took it up 3 out and I layed £60 at 2.0 to hedge my bet. This left me with the same profit no matter what horse won.

The screen showed both bets matched and I waited for my winnings. Nothing came and I contacted Betfair who said my bet never existed.

I am not a liar, nor am I a cheat and most of all I am not a bad loser as i am of an age where I know unless you well informed, professional or a liar then by gambling a loser you must be.

Betfair have twice told me hard luck your bets didn't exist but I know they were matched and I know systems can go wrong and would accept this answer instead of just being told I am stupid as I most probably made the bet with another exchange.

Has anyone else ever had a similar problem with Betfair?

I am sorry to hear your problems with betfair.

This site exists because we had a problem of a different kind with betfair.

Yes, I do agree with you that bets do get onor are not registered or vice versa.

Another exchange I used twice took money off my account on bets I never struck. I could do nothing about that.

They will never tell you for example that a client of theirs disappeared owing them money on commissions or because they made a mistake. Thus your bet might be reported as not matched or non existent.

My advice to you is to change exchanges since they have done this twice to you. Keep the account open, and try betdaq , the next big exchange.

Hi madpunter

Thank you for your response and advice on this matter. Since my posting Betfair have at least treated my dispute more seriously but have in the end still said they are unable to do anything to correct things as they have no record of the bet!

I haven't tried betdaq but will just to see what else is on offer whilst as you suggest keeping my Betfair account open. It doesn't ever do any harm to shop around, I guess like everything else in life though they just want your business without any hassle but thanks again for your time and thoughts.

Happy punting.
