Williams or Clijsters In Us Open, Thoughts and Forecasts

Ladies Matches Are Great Fixtures

Venus Williams faces a great opponent in Kim Clijsters. Both players can play outstanding tennis and o the day it will be their concentratin and stamina that will carry them forward. Venus seems determined and hungry for the title but Clijsters will not give up her title of last year that easily.

Home ground, advance to this point tilts the balance to Venus for us.

Wozniacki is the favourite to lift the title but Zvonareva is a tough young lady and it will not be easy at all. We see the matcg going the favourites way but it will not be a surprise to see Zvonareva beating her.

Great mathes to watch!

The Ace

Nadal Supreme In Us Open, Beats Verdasco 3-0, Thoughts

Magnificent Nadal Crashes Verdasco

This was a match of a great Nadal against a very good Verdasco.

Nadal beat his fellow countryman by 3-0 and in a fashion that leaves No questions.

He is ready to win the tournament and there are No flaws there.

Quick, sharp, strong, accurate and very, very hungry.

He is the champion for us now. He will pass Youzny easily and then either Federer or Djokovic will be No match for him.

Nadal for us!!!

The Ace

Youzny Beats Wawrinka In US Open Thriller

It's All Square After Two Sets

Wawrinka won the first set easily 6-3 but the second set went all the way to the tie- break and at 8-6 tobe won by Youzny. .

Both players are giving all and the way the first two sets have been played allows only guessing and not assured winner.

For us Wawrinka is the palyer but the TV experts predict Youzny. We doubt that and that we base on the tenacity and desire Wawrinka has shown in earlier matches already.

Wrong? Perhaps yes, but we still believ in the Swiss palyer.

What do we know compared the the all mighty knowelegdeable pundits and commentators?

2-1 sets to Wawrinka but at 5=3 and leading the Russian is surely going to win the fourth set.

Set point for Youzny and he gets it.

2-2 and is all square and on we go to the fifth and final set.

Wawrinka looks tired.

Youzny looks strong and as he got the second set easily it will be a question of who has more in the tank after three hours and and spare minutes.

All to play for in the fifth set and Youzny is possibly the favourite to win now.

Youzny won the match in 3-2 sets. Wawrinka was tired at the end of the match aftr his marathon match with Querrey.

Well done Youzny but

Nadal is in the wings

Be back

The Ace

US Open Results, Thoughts and Forecasts

Top Players Are Top

All the top players came through unscsathed, in spite of playing very good opponents. Federer had a hard time against Soderling but still, he won the match in 3-0 sets.

Djokivic had an easier match against a poor Monfils, who seemed to be out of sorts and out of decent tennis for the audience.

Is there such a gap between the top players and the goo ones. Apparently there is in the Grand Slams.

In the women's section Wozniacki looked very good against Cibulkova and Zvonareva looked even better against Kanepi. Both ladies came through in syraight sets.

We see a real battle between the two ladies with Zvonareva making it to the final.

Federer looks the better of the two men in the first semi-final in spite of Djokovic's good show up to the moment. It will be a match to remember and it will also go the distance.

it will be a toss of a coin to pick the winner here.

Be back this evening

The Ace

Two winners Out Of Three

We had a good day with Krypton Factor and Working Title winners at 5/2 and 11/2.

Johhnny Hancock came in second at 9/2.

Tomorrow we will select at least four.

Odds seem to be very good.

Be back early in the morning.

7.10am Update

We will slect four or five from the following races.
Us Open, Men At War, Surprises Imminent?

Can Wawrinka Win The Us Open?

The answer from all of us is NO!

Yet, I have a snick feeling that he has what it takes to win the event because:

** He plays great tennis and he has already sent home the Number Four seeded Andy Murray.

** He defeated a really good Querrey last night in a good fashion and with tennis worthy of any event. He might be a little tired after five hours of tennis but perhaps he has the stamina to remain competitive. Unless he gets injured.

** He has shown tremendous improvement, magnificent patience and then attacking skills and it will be hard to beat himas long as he is well and healthy. He has to play Youzny to start with but then he faces Nadal.

Nadal will be a major hurdle for Wawrinka but Nadal is 5/2 to win the tournament, whereas Wawrinka is 90/1. We see Nadal serving weakly against the Swiss guy and Wawrinka taking advantage of that. On the exchanges of shots and play Wawrinka will be as as patient as ever and he will hope to break Nadal at times.

this is a big ask but what is the point of selecting Nadal or Federer to win.

St Leger Winner Is ............... Rewilding or Dandino or ..

The Last Classic and Rewilding Is The Word

Third at Epsom and staying on, winning going away at York and he seems to be the one horse with classic form to be beaten. It seems highly unlikely he will be beaten but, this is racing and nobody knows how things will pan out. That race at York was too good and he might not repeat it, a very likely possibility.

There are other horses epspecially trained for this marathon and they must be respected as the distance will suit perfectly.

Dandiono and Arctic Cosmos were second and third in a good race and they should improve. They must be good EW shots.

Joshua Tree ran well behind Rewildig and the race must have done him a lot of good. Soft going and Montjeu are a good combination for this maraton trip. He was reported a bit backward then and if that is true, then he has a major chance as the only unexposed horse in the race. Midas Touch is not running as pace maker and he might steal the show. Nothing between him and Rewilding on classic form.

Finally we fail to see the reason Snow Fairy is running and we hope she is withdrawn. She cannot win against the boys and it won't do her any good.

Be back before Saturday for more.

Pat
