Apologies For Being Late Here

We had a small emergency and had to rush to Great Leighs to see an important connection. Just came back with good news about many things.

Our two selections today ran well but lost. Ellen Tilley came second with a rider that did not want to win and Hamonver Homerun fell when going like a train.

Tomorrow morning we will have more news about the selections for tomorrow.

Do Not Blame Pat

The horses Pat selected were the right ones and they should have won. However, it is not only form and early info that counts.

Nicholls horse, Lamanver Homerun, was dropped even though a great jumper because the stable won the earlier race at odds on. So there went my 70.00 on him which inluded a double of 20.00 on Ellen Tilley.

Ellen Tilley drifetd alarmingly in the race and the writing was on the wall for my early bets. From 4/1 and 7/2 she ended 5/1 but....

Mr Hutchinson had other ideas and he sat on the horse all the way to the line in order to come second by a head and secure the place abnd SFC. That was a disgraceful pulling of a horse Mr Hutchinson.

So, from two winners I ended up with a placed horse which cost me only 40.00 instead of 120.00 that was my bet.

A terrible day to be honest. One horse was made to fall and another one was pulled not to win for sure. No stewards, no BHA nothing.

Argentina has the players to win anything and everything. They played good running football and they showed that the country still produces great players and great players should make great teams. Argentina has the talent to shine at any competition and nothing has changed for the country. Many players to choose fro, many players to coach but will the manager Maradona deliver?

Whether Maradona can lead the team and country of Argentina to glory in South Africa is another matter.

England, Younger Side Equal Better Side

Defenders Attack and Score, Attackers what?

England travelled to Germany for a friendly match depleted of big names but full of desire, inspiration and hard work. The result was a great show of football, a great result, even friendly, and that is what we would like see in the future. Footballers running, footballers fighting for the ball and footballers playing passing, flowing entertaining football.

We asked Mr Capello and we are asking again, stick with the young, the youth, the future and forget the old, the lazy, the publicity seekers and going downhill names.

It has been some time since we saw a lively England National team play with zest, play with desire, energy, speed, passing football and away from home, to the Nemesis of English football, Germany. Two goals scored and one conceded was a very good result and if Mr Capello keeps the young names in and mixes it with the youth, then there is a good chance.

The final 2-1 score was achieved with a whole team excellent show and two goals by an excellent Upson and Terry. Leading by example and guidance, the captain is an inspiration, he is a rock of stability, a spearhead of attack and desire and with him on the side Engalnd has a chance,

My Hopes Were Answered, Partly

I felt condident for the last couple of days and especially after yesterday's double of winners.

Pat has been sensible in his selections and even when he is not confident he spells it out.

Midnight Sail was a confident selection but he came up a little short of the best in the race. He was given a great ride by Thornton but he managed only third. That was OK as the 30.00 EW returned my stake bet and I had no loss.

Huka Lodge was a Sporting bet he said, so 1/2EW point he said. Under the circumstances he was no bet for me because of the weight. However, I followed with 5.00EW which duly went to the drains as Huka Lodge needs four miles and a slog.

Araldour was a very confident selection and when I informed OnLooker of the odds he gasped and said and I quote ' This horse odds should have been about 7/4 not 5/1' Thus, we all backed it here at 30.00 win and twenty to place. I also had another 30.00 win on him at the Better shop and I was as happy as I have not been for sometime. I made about 300.00 pounds from one race. Great and onwards now. It was an excellent choice and an excellent ride Chocolate. The horse is very good and watch him go to much better things over 21/2 miles.

Zoenicible was a selection with some reservation because of the ground. If you saw the horse running you know what we were talking about. He was sort of floating on the ground but... he managed third and that gave me a good profit of 80.00 pounds as I had 20.00EW at Better and 20.0EW at home on the exchanges.

My calculation shows that I made about 360.00 profit today and that is serious ammunition for my attack on scoop6 with betdsipute's syndicate.
